Evaluation and Assessment

  • Prepare for your visit with Dr. Corey Anden by reviewing your history, medications, imaging, and questions in advance so your appointment can be as thorough, efficient, and helpful as possible.

  • Electrodiagnostic medicine is the study of diseases of nerves and muscles. Your doctor has recommended an Nerve test and EMG to determine if your muscles and nerves are working properly.

Regenexx

  • Regenexx-SD is Bone Marrow Concentrate that contains your stem cells. These cells are harvested and reinjected on the same day. This process applies to procedures for the knee, hip, shoulder, hand, wrist, foot, ankle, elbow, and spine.

  • Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), is a non-surgical blood platelet treatment that is typically used to treat muscle strains & tears, ligament & tendon tears, minor arthritis, and for joint maintenance.

  • Prolotherapy is a procedure where solution is injected into the soft tissue of an injured joint. The injected irritant sparks the body’s innate healing process by increasing inflammation.

  • Cells live on their own and make up all of the organisms and tissues in our bodies. Generally speaking, a “stem cell” is a type of “master cell” that can differentiate into other cells and make copies of itself. However, not every cell is a stem cell, and stem cells are often unique in how they can differentiate and self-renew.

Spine Interventions

  • An Epidural Steroid Injection (ESI) is an injection of strong anti-inflammatory steroid (cortisone) is delivered to the outermost section of the spinal column, called the epidural space. The steroid injected can reduce inflammation of nerves in the epidural space and thus reducing pain and other symptoms.

  • If you are living with chronic, unmanageable pain from facet syndrome or spinal arthritis, these therapeutic approaches offer both a quick resolution and long-term relief. Pain stemming from the facet joints is termed “facet syndrome.” The facet joints become inflamed and may cause pain, soreness and stiffness.

  • The Medial Branch Block is done by injecting a numbing agent onto the medial branch nerves. This is meant to TEMPORARILY numb the nerve, which should “shut off” pain signals to the brain.

  • Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) is a non-surgical, outpatient procedure used to treat pain resulting from arthritis of the Facet Joints. This is done by using radio-frequency energy to disrupt the nerve’s ability to send pain signals to the brain; therefore giving you a feeling of relief.

  • SI Joint injections can be used to diagnose and treat low back pain that is believed to be caused by irritation and inflammation of an SI joint. When the joint becomes painful, it can cause pain in its immediate region or it can refer pain into your groin, abdomen, hip, buttock or leg.

Injections

  • Botox is only FDA-approved for chronic migraines. It works to blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles and when injected around the face and head, can prevent muscle contractions that can trigger migraines

  • Cortisone injections are used for treating many orthopedic problems, including arthritis, tendonitis, and bursitis. By reducing inflammation in the affected joint, we can usually reduce the amount of pain the patient is feeling.

  • Trigger Point Injections are similar to having a deep tissue massage. Rather than massaging the outside of the muscle, Dr. Anden is able to “massage” the inside of the tense muscle using a needle.
